Gaie Bleu

Handmade linocut print

Dimensions: 15 x 15 inch (40 x 40 cm)
Printed on lokta paper using Caligo oil-based relief ink

Winter is for sure not the easiest time of the year. But then there are this little wonders that make it worth it to stay. Like seeing Blue Jays with their beautiful feather dress playing in maple samaras.

Created using the ‘reduction method,’ this technique involves carving a single lino block in stages to build up layers of color. Here 8 layers have been created.

Reduction Print

Maybe it’s the first time since I arrived in Canada that my relationship with winter feels balanced. I don’t cry because it lasts so long. Instead, I see beauty everywhere and enjoy visits from birds like Blue Jays. They remind me that it’s okay to slow down, stay curious, and never stop developing.

All my artwork is handmade and original with a mix of limited and open edition linocut prints. I design, carve, press and pull the prints in my studio in the Laurentides, Canada.

Please note: Because of its handmade nature there may be tiny variations to the picture. Be this colour, evenness of ink or other small differences.
