To be honest: I made a mistake and I just found out when I searched it’s sound to put it on a video for social media: it’s not the one that we hear here in the Laurentides frequently! So I need to do another print for the one that I was intended to make a print for. The one we hear here is the the Dog-day Cicada and it’s even more beautiful!

All my artwork is handmade and original with a mix of limited and open edition linocut prints. I design, carve, press and pull the prints in my studio in the Laurentides, Canada.

Please note: Because of its handmade nature there may be tiny variations to the picture. Be this colour, evenness of ink or other small differences.Lebanon has been affected by war since 1975. Since then many peoply feld from her homeland, on the top economy crisis makes a living really difficult. Now South Lebanon is occupied again by Isreal, in the time of year that should be used normally for growing food. Many children are growind up “being used” by sounds of booms that drop down only few kilometers far away. With this print I collect donations for the lebanese red cross. 100% of the profit will go directly to them.

In recent years, communities in Lebanon and Palestine have faced genocide, ecocide, displacement, and the growing control of corporate capitalism over food and agriculture. At the same time, proposed seed laws and policies threaten to legalize monopolies over seeds, restrict farmers’ rights to save, reproduce, exchange, and sell them, and deepen dependence on corporations.

Protecting seeds is therefore not only an agricultural issue. It is an act of resistance, memory, sovereignty, and survival. With this print, I am collecting donations for AgriMovement, a Lebanese grassroots organization working for food sovereignty, agroecology, and the rights of small-scale farmers. They propagate and defend local seeds, support farmers and women-led cooperatives, and build community-based alternatives for a just, sovereign food system. 100% of the profit will go directly to support their work.

If you’d like to donate directly to AgriMovement you can do it here.

Each print is designed, carved, and hand-printed by me in my small workshop in the Laurentians. Because of it’s handmade nature, slight variations in color and print may occur. These small differences are exactly what make hand-printed works so special and beautiful.

I print on handmade Lokta paper, and each sheet has its own unique character. This makes every piece truly one of a kind.

Frame and accessories are not included.

[18
69
post-4294","product","type-product","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","product_cat-printworks","product_tag-monoprint","first","instock","shipping-taxable","purchasable","product-type-variable

Nostalgia Donation Print Lebanon

<meta name="description" content="Protecting seeds is not only an agricultural issue.
