Reduction Print<\/em><\/p>\n

Since this plant grows wild in my garden next to another one called Canadian Goldenrod<\/em><\/a>, I printed both plants at the same time and using the same colour scheme.<\/p>\n

All my artwork is handmade and original with a mix of limited and open edition linocut prints. I design, carve, press and pull the prints in my studio in the Laurentides, Canada.<\/p>\n

Mullein (Verbascum thapsus)<\/strong> is a traditional herbal remedy known for its soothing effects on the respiratory system. I use its soft, woolly leaves to make a gentle tea that helps ease coughs, clear the lungs, and support breathing – especially during the colder months that are arriving soon.Since this plant grows wild in my garden next to another one called Canadian Goldenrod<\/em><\/a>, I printed both plants at the same time and using the same colour scheme.<\/p>\n

This print was created using the \u2018reduction method,\u2019 this technique involves carving a single lino block in stages to build up layers of color. Here 5 layers have been created. With this technique, a little more is carved away from the printing block after each layer of colour, so that only one edition can be printed. Once the print is sold out, it will never be available again.<\/p>\n

Each print is designed, carved, and hand-printed by me in my small workshop in the Laurentians. Because of it\u2019s handmade nature, slight variations in color and print may occur. These small differences are exactly what make hand-printed works so special and beautiful.<\/p>\n

I print on handmade Lokta paper, and each sheet has its own unique character. This makes every piece truly one of a kind.<\/p>\n
