An vergessenen Stra\u00dfenr\u00e4ndern und auf verlassenen Grundst\u00fccken entfaltet die Wegwarte seine himmelblauen Bl\u00fctenbl\u00e4tter wie winzige St\u00fccke eines gefallenen Himmels. Dieses unscheinbare \u201eUnkraut\u201c birgt Jahrhunderte menschlicher Geschichte: die Pflanze hat eine Geschichte, die bis ins alte \u00c4gypten zur\u00fcckreicht, und die Einwohner Louisianas begannen, die Wurzeln der Wegwarte ihrem Kaffee beizumischen, als die Seeblockade der Union w\u00e4hrend des amerikanischen B\u00fcrgerkriegs den Hafen von New Orleans abschottete, wodurch eine langj\u00e4hrige Tradition entstand.<\/p>\n

Was gew\u00f6hnlich erscheint, entpuppt sich als au\u00dfergew\u00f6hnlich: Wildwachsende Wegwartenbl\u00e4tter sind zwar roh essbar, haben jedoch meist einen bitteren Geschmack, insbesondere die \u00e4lteren Bl\u00e4tter. Durch Kochen verwandeln sie sich jedoch in nahrhaftes Blattgem\u00fcse. Die ger\u00f6stete Wurzel wird zu einem reichhaltigen, erdigen Kaffeeersatz, der Gemeinden in Kriegszeiten und wirtschaftlich schwierigen Zeiten ern\u00e4hrte. Die europ\u00e4ische Folklore fl\u00fcstert von tieferer Magie \u2013 \u00e4hnlich wie das Fr\u00fchlingskraut und das Mondkraut k\u00f6nne es verschlossene T\u00fcren \u00f6ffnen, und man glaubte auch, dass die Wegwarte seinem Besitzer Unsichtbarkeit verleihe.<\/p>\n

Alle meine Kunstwerke sind handgefertigt und Originale, eine Mischung aus limitierten und unlimitierten Linolschnitten. Die Drucke werden in meinem Atelier in den Laurentides, Kanada, entworfen, geschnitzt und gedruckt.<\/p>\n

Dieser Druck zelebriert die stille Widerstandsf\u00e4higkeit der Wegwarte. Diese Pflanze gedeiht dort, wo andere nicht wachsen k\u00f6nnen, und bietet denen, die sie sehen, Sch\u00f6nheit. Jede einzelne azurblaue Bl\u00fcte erinnert daran, dass Nahrung und Wunder oft an den unerwartetsten Orten wachsen.<\/p>\n

Jeder Druck wird von mir in meiner kleinen Werkstatt in den Laurentides entworfen, geschnitzt und von Hand gedruckt. Da es sich um handgefertigte Produkte handelt, kann es zu leichten Abweichungen in Farbe und Druck kommen. Genau diese kleinen Unterschiede machen handgedruckte Werke so besonders und sch\u00f6n.<\/p>\n

Ich drucke auf handgesch\u00f6pftem Lokta-Papier, und jedes Blatt hat seinen ganz eigenen Charakter. Dadurch ist jedes St\u00fcck ein echtes Unikat.<\/p>\n
